I use my netbook the same way but I also made a tiny stand for it by using polymer clay and shaping a little trapazoid shape and carving the top so the corner where the netbook hinge meets the table will fit. the little stand takes the weight of the netbook and makes a more pleasent reading.
that seems like a pain.
I tried doing this b4, lack of touch screen and the weight make this not suitable for traveler.
