M-Edge Executive Genuine Leather Kindle DX Jacket , Smooth Mocha Brown
Recently purchased a Kindle DX and after looking at a friend who has the Official Amazon cover, decide to look for an alternative. In the end settled on this one from M-Edge.
It is some what bulkier than Amazon’s but in return you have a cover that offers significantly more protection. It holds the device securely in place and the inside grey lining makes it really comfortable to hold. The tongue strap allows you to securely shut the case which i see is a plus but other might find annoying.
I also think the appearance is quite a bit nicer looking than the Amazon one also. But that’s just my personally opinion. I quite like the stitching on brown leather.
I actually purchased this through their website and ran into some difficulties. Their logistics company “lost” the order. But their customer service people resoolved the issue quickly and ended up FedEx-ing me within 3 days (I am in Australia). Great service! May be I should have purchased it here.

The kindle cover is well constructed with heavy stitching and should last for years.
The one feature I don’t like is the flap which secures the two covers together when the kindle is not in use. Once I open the kindle,that flap always seems to get in my way when I’m reading. I have gotten to sliding the flap under the kindle between kindle and the back cover.The flap looks very stylish and is attached to the cover very well. I just wonder if there’s a way to retract the flap when the kindle is being used.

The M-Edge leather jacket for the Kindle DX is well made of quality leather with a good feel and great workmanship. I have had mine for almost 3 months and have been more than satisfied with it. To spend the type of money one does for the Kindle it only makes sense to want to and need to protect that investment. The leather jacket holds the Kindle securely and anyone knows who has handled the Kindle – the smooth surface makes it ever so easy to slip out of your hands – the leather is easy to the touch but yet keeps the kindle in your hand secure and does provide a level of safety if it is dropped.

This cover was all it was described to be. It’s rigid enough to protect the Kindle screen, but yet has a nice appearance. The only downside we noticed was the closure. It’s a strap that fits inside a slot on the face of the cover. We would have preferred a magnetic catch much the same as you see on women’s purses, but the one that comes on the cover appears adequate.

I purchased this cover for my Kindle 2 and am so pleased to learn my new Kindle DX will also have this cover with the strap to close the book and keep it protected in my travel bag. Super protection for the reader!
