Video update of the InfoPad running Windows XP with working touch screen. The InfoPad will be only $299.95 but will be able to support Windows XP, Linux and Android applications. Uses standard AA NiMH batteries and doesn’t require an external adapter to charge. The InfoPad is fanless and uses low cost SDs for Flash storage.
@TheLazydavid
I have had plans for such a device for 8
years but I would need a customer to
sponsor such an effort. However, it would h
have to be LiIon batteries.
Great idea for AA rechargeable batteries!
Any plan for Pocket PC/PDA with 4 AA rechargeable batteries?
nice, would have been a huge + if the screen could be dimmed down to save battery. kind of want this for my hiking expeditions and nigth time is probably when I am going to work with it mostly. so a very brigth screen at such time isn’t really needed at the same time it can be very useful to have a bright screen during the day for gps navigation and notes etc.
the Xcore86 doesn’t have ACPI. It runs full speed or standbye. It draws much les spower than any other x86 CPU. The screen draws 4.5 watts.
also if the batteries would run out I would have to option to buy any aa battery for temporary replacement right?
the extra connector for 8-12v does it detect the voltage automaticly ? and does a connecton to a car battery also charge the batteries?
the most stupid question is the one never asked. and I know some forums that may have an interest in this product and the others you have.
the energy saving ruggedness and price is good things =)
and is there power save options? like adjustning the brigthness of the screen?
on the specifications it says it has an internal sd card reader. so there isn’t an easely accesed sd card reader? like on most net books?
what is the dimentions of it?
so I will be able to get one with in ~2 months ?
the 16 houer version, probably a company secret but my guess it feautures a LI battery and doesn’t use aa batteries?
to be continued.
apart from the metal detail the plastic will be quite rugged as well right?
is the weigth with or without battery?
when will these be available to purches?(got to save money for it)
also not that I plan to exactly but if I where to be in Thailand, would it be possible to pick it up at the factory?
tack for answeing =)
(edit, deleeted a question)
8 weeks for plastic and 4 for metal. The AA batteries last 4 hours but we could build a 16 hour version but will only do this for a quantity order.
the plastic version is about 1 killo and the metal version is about 1.5 killos. The touch screen is there of course but you could use a mouse instead.
Looks nice =)
what is the weigth of it ?
also is there any navigation options apart from the touch screen?
continue the good work!
