M-Edge Prodigy Genuine Leather Kindle Jacket with Hinge , Pebbled Purple
The Kindle 2 fell from a couch onto a carpeted floor and stopped working. Replacement is not covered by the warranty, since this is not ‘normal use’. I paid $369.00 for the Kindle and several hundred dollars for books. I am told that replacement would have been covered by the extended warranty for another $65.00, but under the limited warranty I am out of luck and out a lot of money

I have both the Kindle 2 cover from Amazon and, for my wife’s Kindle 2, the M-Edge prodigy jacket. The M-Edge is by far the better product in terms of quality and padding, and we like the M-Edge’s leather clasp and the pocket for ID such as a business card. However, the cover, when closed, is a full half-inch wider than the Amazon cover, and for no apparent reason. It takes up space unnecessarily, so be aware you’re getting a lot of wasted width. I’d recommend that M-Edge redesign this item.

This seems a marvelous accessory for the Kindle 2, but as with the one I eventually purchased (the Cole Haan for $99), this cover is made with the elastic strips at the corners on the right-hand side of the cover!
I must turn the covered device upside-down so that it is more easily operated from the left side (I am left-handed). This leaves me with an upside-down pocket inside the cover as well, which is useless. (A small additional annoyance is that when others ask to see my Kindle, I am asked why the inside pocket obviously is upside-down!)
I really wish that Amazon.com would offer an optional model for left-handed users; one that has the elastic bands at the edges on the LEFT side of the cover, with an inside pocket that is positioned accordingly.
If it weren’t for this drawback, I’d award a 5-star rating!

I’m a first-time Kindle owner, and I’m addicted! Take it everywhere. I was concerned that the screen, or even the device itself, would become damaged as it rode around in my bag or my car. Bought this cover, along with the E-luminator booklight – I’m so pleased with them! The cover holds my device very securely, and it looks great. (Great funky purple color, beautifully made, and I’ve received a few compliments on it already.) Love that the light just folds right down into the cover, even when it’s closed.
Delivery was prompt, about 10 days, and everything arrived safely. Anchoring the Kindle into the cover was easy, and it seems to be very happy and well-protected in its new home.

I love this jacket for my kindle. I think quality wise it’s there and as far as style goes it looks really nice.
