Kindle iPad Comparison

The Kindle has a really long battery life if you turn the wireless off. Amazon says it can go two weeks on a charge, and I believe that’s true for average readers. Since I tend to put in 5 hours per day, I get about a four-five day stretch between charges. The iPad has about ten hours per charge, but I find that goes down when switching between applications. The Kindle is the only one I’d feel comfortable taking on a trip without the power cord.

  2. Great review. The iPad blew the Kindle out of the water with the graphic novels. How do you compare the battery life of the two when reading books in one sitting? Does the iPad need plugging in after less hours?

Hi, thanks for your comment. The glare was really bad on the video, but in person it’s not an issue at all. I just adjust it a tad, and there’s no glare. The biggie for me is eye-strain, and because I do tend to stare at the thing for 4-5 hours straight, and the brightness of the screen does start to bug me. On the other hand, the iPad does so much other stuff, and the reading experience is first class (provided it’s done in limited doses).

  4. Thanks for the review, it’s nice to get opinions from people who actually read books. I’m pretty torn between the iPad and Kindle DX. While I would probably get more mileage from the iPad, I do wonder if the screen will start to strain my eyes, like you when I read, I will happily sit through the whole book. Also, I do wonder if screen glare is really that bad in bright conditions.

  5. Nice review….ur hot ;) lol keep it up
